Zaipuna joined the Bank in June 2018 as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and has made significant contribution in strategy, governance, cost efficiency and ovarall leadership of the bank.
According to a statement signed by the Chairman of NMB Bank Plc Board of Directors,Dr.Edwin P. Mhende,stated that the appointment of Ms.Ruth H.Zaipuna as the Chief Executive Officer ot fhe bank is from today Agust 18th, 2020.
"I am pleased to announce the appointment of Ms.Ruth H.Zaipuna as the Chief Executive Officer ot fhe bank with effect from 18th Agust, 2020. Ruth, who has been acting in the same role since October 2019, joined the Bank in June 2018 as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and has made significant contribution in strategy, governance, cost efficiency and ovarall leadership of the bank. All these contributed to the stability, business continuity and increased profitability of the bank.
"As Acting Chief Executive Officer, Ruth has been intrumental during the transition period and key player in the growth realisation of NMB. Now, with full responsibility of the leardership of the bank, she will continue to drive the strong performance agenda of NMB towards a sustainable delivery of its strategic objectives. The Board of Directors and I take this opportunity to congratulate Ruth on her appointment,"wrote Dr.Edwin P. Mhende.
Ruth, started her career in 2002 at PriceWaterhouseCoopers Limited (PwC), specialising in the audits oc commercial banks and other financial institutions fpor a decade, ad with Standard Chartered Bank as an Executive Director and CFO for seven years before joining NMB Bank.
She is Associate Certified Public Accountant, holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Finance and Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) degree in Accounting both from the University of Dar es Salaam.
