The Financial Times leads on the prime minister’s new coronavirus restrictions and the economic implications of workers being told to work from home again.

The Uganda Police Force runs a quarterly magazine known as the Police Habari Magazine. We are pleased to share with you our latest issue; the fifth edition that examined ICT and Policing in Uganda. The IGP, John Martins Okoth-Ochola (ESQ) in his column guides officers on how ICT enhances policing.

In the same issue, we share emotive and well deserving photos and the accompanying stories of our Field Officers serving communities above self. At the start of the lockdown, our Mbale DPC, SP Fred Ahimbisibwe was called by a mother in labor pains at around 1:00pm and he drove to Wanale Village, rescued the mother and rushed her to hospital. A couple of minutes after reaching hospital, she delivered a bouncing baby boy. That gives us joy and new energy to serve others.

Read about a Fire Officer, SGT. Elly Walusimbi, a celebrated fire fighter who has survived life threatening fire incidents 15 times, and his spirits are still high, his readiness to serve motherland still vibrant. He tells a tale that scares even the brave, but one that gives confidence of a dedicated servant of the people.

We discuss scientific ways of fighting crime, but also delve into family affairs. Our columnists include Annete Kirabira, Bob G. Kisiki, Simon Peter Musoke and Kenneth Kimuli aka Pablo who discuss self awareness as a tool that enhances parenting, building family legacies, children fire safety tips and children and technology respectively.

We reflected on the life and legacy of our friend and mentor, the slain AIGP Andrew Felix Kaweesi who was brutally murdered on March 17, 2017 near his home in Kulambiro together with his driver and body guard. Evil roams around snatching lives!

There are many more stories to enjoy and learn from. Journey with us and please know that we take your feedback very seriously.
