H.E. President Salva Kiir Mayardit presided over the swearing in ceremony of the eight out of nine newly appointed States Deputy Governors in a ceremony held in the Office of the President, by Diramakini Reporter.
The Deputy Governors that took oath before H.E. President Salva Kiir are hereby,
1. Hon. Antipas Nyok Kucha Deputy Governor of Jonglei State (SPLM)
2. Hon. Poth Madit Dut Deputy Governor of Lakes State (SPLM-IO)
3. Hon. Tor Tungwar Kueiguong of Unity State (SPLM-IO)
4. Hon. Angelo Biajo Taban of Western Bahre el Ghazal State (SPLM)
5. Hon. Dr. Kennedy Gaaniko Baime of Western Equatoria State (SPLM)
6. Hon. Ayen Mayor Makuei of Warrap State (OPP)
7. Hon. Tong Lual Ayat of Northern Bahre el Ghazal State (OPP)
8. Hon. Sarah Nene Redento of Central Equatoria State (OPP)
The swearing in ceremony officiated by H. E. President Salva Kiir Mayardit was administered by Chief Justice Chan Reech Madut attended by the Minister of Presidential Affairs Hon. Nhial Deng Nhial, Governor of Central Equatoria State Hon. Emmanuel Adil Anthony and senior officials in the Office of the President.
Speaking after the oath taking ceremony, H.E. President Salva Kiir Mayardit appealed to all the States Deputy Governors to cooperate as parties and States local governments and deliver services to the people of South Sudan to the best of their abilities.
The President further urged the newly sworn in States Deputy Governors to go to their respective states and serve their people, not as political Parties but as one government in determination to maintaining Peace and Stability at state level.
Speaking on behalf of newly appointed SPLM States Deputy Governors, Hon. Antipas Nyok Kucha Deputy Governor of Jonglei State assured H.E. President Salva Kiir Mayardit that they will work tirelessly to deliver services to the people and maintain peace and stability at their respective States.
On behalf of the SPLM-IO States Deputy Governors, Hon. Poth Madit Dut , Deputy Governor of Lakes State urged all the Deputy Governors to go and work for the interest of the people of South Sudan and not work for the interest of their parties.
On behalf of OPP Deputy Governors, Hon. Tong Lual Ayat of Northern Bar el Ghazal State said, they will work closely with the State Governors to create jobs for the youth and ensure that the security remains calm and normal at the States.
Eight out of nine newly appointed States Deputy Governors were sworn in by Chief Justice Chan Reech Madut before H.E. President Salva Kiir Mayardit in the Office of the President on Thursday.
Hon. Mary Nadio Alphonse , Deputy Governor of Eastern Equatoria State could not take the oath because she is not present in the Country.
