H.E. President Salva Kiir Mayardit presided over the swearing in ceremony of Hon. Budhok Ayang Kur as the Governor of Upper Nile State, Hon. Aleu Ayieny Aleu as the Governor of Warrap State and Hon. James Tor Monybuny as the Deputy Governor of Upper Nile State, By Diramakini Reporter (Juba).
The swearing in ceremony officiated by H. E. President Salva Kiir
Mayardit was administered by Chief Justice Chan Reech Madut in the
President’s Office on Saturday.
In attendance also were, The
First Vice President H.E. Dr. Riek Machar Teny, Presidential Adviser on
National Security Affairs Hon. Tut Gatluak Manime, Minister of
Presidential Affairs Nhial Deng Nhial , Minister of National Security,
Hon. Obuto Mamur Mete, Minister of General Education and Instruction
Hon. Awut Deng Acuil, Minister of Livestock and Fisheries Onyoti Adigo
Nyikwec.
Speaking after the oath taking ceremony, H.E. President Salva
Kiir Mayardit said, he was happy when he got the letter from Dr. Riek
Machar that he changed General Johnson Olony Thabo as his nominee for
the sake of peace and security for the people of Upper Nile State after
Johnson Olony Thabo declined the post two weeks ago.

President Salva Kiir urged Hon. Budhok Ayang and Hon. James Tor Monybuny
to work together to reconcile and unite the people of Upper Nile State.
H.E. President Salva Kiir said, the people of Upper Nile State are one
blood and they should learn to co- exist and not fight with each other.
President
Salva Kiir urged the State Governors to get to work and bring for him
their recommendations of States and local Governments officials for him
to issue the decrees for appointments.
H.E. President Salva
Kiir urged Hon. Aleu Ayienyi to bring back law and order in Warrap
state, H.E. President Salva Kiir said, he is confident that Aleu Ayieny
Aleu will do his work to end hostilities in Tonj and Warrap State in
General.
H.E. First Vice President Dr. Riek Machar Teny said, after a wider
serious consultations and after General Johnson Olony Thabo declined the
post two weeks ago, he decided to change General Johnson Olony as their
nominee and replaced him with Budhok Ayang Kur because they want peace
and security in Upper Nile State, H.E. Dr. Riek Machar said, he is happy
with the appointment of Hon. Budhok Ayang Kur as the Governor of Upper
Nile State noting that he is confident that he will avail protection and
security to their people.
H.E. Dr. Riek Machar Teny said, it is a
challenging time for Hon. Aleu Ayieny and encouraged him to bring to
end the insecurities that have been rampant in Warrap State.
The Presidential Adviser on Security Affairs Hon. Tut Gatluak Manime urged the newly appointed Governors and Deputy Governors of Warrap and Upper Nile State to reconcile and unite their people at the grassroots, Hon. Tut Gatluak pledged to the newly appointed Governors the support from the National Government to ensure that, security and stability prevail in Upper Nile.
The Governor of Upper Nile State, Hon. Budhok Ayang Kur said, the problem in Upper Nile State is big and they will begin their work immediately with healing and reconciliation of their people. Hon. Budhok Ayang Kur said, their task will begin in Juba because the Problems in Upper Nile State do start in the National Capital Juba.
The Governor of Warap State Hon. Aleu Ayieny Aleu said, the insecurities in Warrap State is not news to him and he is confident that he will handle it as long as he has the support from the H.E. President Salva Kiir Mayardit. Hon. Aleu Ayieng Aleu stressed that, the most important thing to take note is the Government we are in itself, on how we are going to cooperate as political parties and deliver the services to the people,
Hon. Aleu Ayieny said, we must all understand that, we are going for a mission to bring peace and stability to our people.
The Deputy Governor of Upper Nile State Hon. James Tor Monybuny called upon the daughters and sons of upper Nile State in South Sudan and outside the Country to take it as their responsibility to bring peace and unity to their people at the grassroots, Hon. James Tor Monybuny said, the people of Upper Nile State highly need peace and security.
President Salva Kiir Mayardit on Friday night appointed the governor and deputy governor of Upper Nile State, ending a six-month deadlock over the nominee for Upper Nile State Governorship.
