Muhimbili National Hospital (MNH) is a tertiary Specialised and Super Specialist Hospital in Tanzania organized into nine Directorates with bed capacity of 2,178 out of which 1,570 beds are at the Main Upanga Hospital and 608 beds are at Mloganzila facility which is 30 km away from the main Hospital.Pakua hapa>>>
The Hospital serves between 2,000-3,000 Outpatients and 1,500 – 2,000 Inpatients per day. In order to achieve its objective the Hospital is looking for a competent and experienced person to fill the position below for 2 years contract (renewable on mutual agreement).
1.0 CLERK OF WORKS – (2 POSTS)
1.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
i. To observe quality of construction in accordance with the contract and assist in preparation of progress reports.
ii.
Consider and evaluate Contractor’s suggestions and recommendations,
discuss with the Project Supervisor and help in making decisions where
appropriate
iii.
Maintain accurate records of construction works at the construction
site in an orderly manner in accordance with procedures.
iv. Review and verify application for payments submitted by the Contractor and submit recommendations on the way forward
v.
Assist in reviewing the list of items to be completed or corrected
which are Submitted by the contractor for issuance of a Certificate of
Substantial Completion.
vi.
Provide assistance in final inspection of the work and in reviewing the
record documents to be furnished by the contractor upon completion of
the work
vii. To perform any other related duties as may be assigned by his/her supervisor.
1.2 QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
Holder
of Bachelor Degree in Architecture and must be Registered with
Architecture and Quantity Surveyors Registration Board (AQRB) with
Minimum of 2 years of working experience
1.3 RENUMERATION

2.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
i. Assist in establishment and control of projects’ cost estimates and quantities
ii. Assist in preparation or review of projects’ Bills of Quantities
iii. Assist in ascertaining projects materials
iv. Assist in initial and preliminary budgeting and cost planning of projects
v. Advice on cost effectiveness of design and construction methodology
vi. To perform any other related duties as may be assigned by his/her supervisor.
2.2 QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
Holder
of Bachelor Degree in Building Economics/Quantity Surveying or related
field and must be Registered with Architecture and Quantity Surveyors
Registration Board (AQRB) with Minimum of 2 years experience.
2.3 RENUMERATION

3.0 CIVIL ENGINEER – (1 POST)
3.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
i. Assist in day to day supervision of Works in Hospital Projects
ii. To carry out specified routine technical tasks
iii. Assist in performing duties related to the profession
iv. To perform any other related duties as may be assigned by his/her supervisor.
3.2 QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
Holder
of Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering and must be registered with
Engineering Registration Board (ERB) with minimum of 2 years experience.
3.3 RENUMERATION

4.0 SYSTEM DEVELOPER – (4 POSTS)
4.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
i. Actively participate in project scoping, design, development and testing
ii. Studying organizing requirements, conferring with users; studying current HMIS
flow, data usage, and work processes, investigating problem areas.
iii. Develop tools and applications by producing clean, efficient code
iv. Automate tasks through appropriate tools and scripting
v. Review and debug code developed internally and by external software vendors
vi. Perform validation and verification testing of the developed software
vii. Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to fix and improve products
viii. Ensure software is up-to-date with the latest technologies
ix. Support the analysis, problem definition, requirements, solution development
and proposed solutions to determine foot for purpose.
x.
Document and demonstrates solutions by developing documentation,
flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code.
xi. To perform any other related duties as may be assigned by his/her supervisor.
4.2 QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
Holder of Bachelor degree in Software engineering or Computer Science or Information technology or its related field.
Applicants demonstrating to have the following knowledge and skills shall have added advantages;
i. Knowledge of trending Health Information Systems and Technologies in the market
ii. Minimum of 2 years working experience in software development
iii. Familiarity with Agile’s Scrum development methodologies
iv. Knowledge of selected programming languages (e.g Java, C#, PhP, Python, C++ and the J2EE platform
v. In-depth knowledge of relational databases (eg PostgreSQL, MySQL and NoSQL database (e.g MongoDB)
vi. Familiarity with various operating system (Android, Linux, Mac OS, Windows).
vii. In-depth knowledge of mobile frameworks at the OS level (iOS, Android & windows)
viii. Strong experience with REST API and web services
ix. Problem-solving and follow-through; pragmatic and thorough

5.0 SYSTEM ANALYST – (1 POST)
5.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
i.
Deploy, maintain and troubleshoot core business applications, including
application servers, associated hardware, endpoints and databases,
ii. Meet and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to establish project scope, systems goals and requirements,
iii.
Develop, analyze, prioritize and organize requirement specifications,
data mapping, diagrams and flowcharts for developers and testers to
follow,
iv. Translate highly technical specifications into clear non-technical requirements
v. Manage the set-up and configuration of systems,
vi.
Define and coordinate the execution of testing procedures and develop
test cases to serve the overall quality assurance process,
vii. Provide documentation of all processes and training as needed,
viii.
Develop and implement maintenance procedures, monitor systems health,
gather system statistics and troubleshoot reported errors and alarms,
ix. Perform design, implementation and upgrades of information systems to meet the business and user needs,
x. Implement best practices for scalability, supportability, ease of maintenance and system performance.
xi. To perform any other related duties as may be assigned by his/her supervisor.
5.2 QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
i. Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or related field
ii.
Minimum of 2 years working experience in health information
