2022 CENSUS IN TANZANIA:I have been campaigning and mobilising people to be ready to be counted as from tomorrow for 6-7days in Musoma Vijijini

THE ultimate goal of the population and housing census operation is to provide the government and other stakeholders with essential statistics on the population, in terms of demographic, social and economic characteristics, and housing conditions and household amenities

The last census was held in 2012. Thus the 2022 census will be the sixth in the series beginning after the “birth” of the United Republic of Tanzania in 1964. Other censuses took place in 1967, 1978, 1988, 2002 and 2012.

We are approx 63.3 million in Tanzania. Tomorrow, 23.8.2022 is our Census day. The last one was done in 2012.
