Saudi Arabia submits Bid Book to host World Expo 2030

PARIS-A Saudi delegation led by CEO of Royal Commission for Riyadh City, Fahd Al-Rasheed, submitted on Wednesday in Paris the Bid Book to host World Expo 2030 in Riyadh to Dimitri Kerkentzes, secretary general of BIE.

The Kingdom’s BIE delegates and Riyadh Expo 2030 team was present during the submitting ceremony.

Pictures showed the presence of Princess Haifa Al-Muqrin, Saudi Arabia's permanent representative to UNESCO, and the Saudi Ambassador to France Fahad Al-Ruwaily.

Four countries have submitted candidature dossiers to organize World Expo 2030. The Republic of Korea, Italy, Ukraine, and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia now all enter the examination phase of the candidature process.

Expo 2030 will take place from Oct. 1, 2030 to April 1, 2031. The theme proposed by Saudi Arabia is “The era of change: Leading the planet to a foresighted tomorrow.”

The Royal Commission for Riyadh City (RCRC), which is the authority responsible for the City of Riyadh and is chaired by Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman is leading the Saudi bid for the World Expo 2030.(SG)
