SEOUL-Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman and South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol held key talks at the presidential residence in Seoul on Thursday.
The Saudi Crown Prince met President Yoon on the second day of an official visit to South Korea, as part of his current Asian tour.
Prince Mohammed said during the talks: “We seek to intensify joint action to confront everything that threatens international peace and security and affects energy security and the safety of supply chains.”
The Crown Prince pointed to the close cooperation within the framework of the Saudi-Korean Vision 2030 and commended the achievements accomplished by it.
He said: “We follow with great interest the achievements of the joint committees between our two countries, and we look forward to raising the pace of investment coordination and strengthening partnership between the public and private sectors.”
The Crown Prince stressed the importance of tackling the promising commercial and investment opportunities available in the two countries.
Prince Mohammed lauded the positive trade growth in the past years between Saudi Arabia and South Korea.
“This visit to your friendly country coincides with the passage of 60 years since the establishment of relations between Saudi Arabia and South Korea, which confirms the desire of our two countries to continue to consolidate the foundations of this historical relationship and work to complete efforts aimed at strengthening cooperation in all fields,” Crown Prince told President Yoon.
“Our two countries have political, economic, regional and international weight and they’re both members in the G20 group.”
He added: “The relationship between Saudi Arabia and South Korea has witnessed great development over the past six decades, resulting in a fruitful strategic partnership.”
“In order to preserve the gains of this relationship, we have always been keen to intensify consultation and coordination with your country to achieve ambitious economic aspirations and build a better future for the region and the world as it faces great challenges today.
The Crown Prince expressed his thanks and appreciation to the president for his keenness to advance the relationship between the two countries.
The South Korean president affirmed his keenness to raise bilateral relations to a new level. He said Saudi Arabia is witnessing a new future through the implementation of the Kingdom's Vision 2030 under the leadership of the Crown Prince, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
The president said he looked forward to expanding and developing bilateral cooperation and investment in new sectors and giga projects such as NEOM, defense industries, future energy, hydrogen, culture and tourism.
During an official session, the two leaders reviewed aspects of Saudi-Korean relations in various fields, especially in the economic, investment and trade aspects. They also discussed developments and a number of issues of common interest. (SPA/SG)
