ABU DHABI (UAE)-Al Ajban Poultry won first place for the "His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Agricultural Excellence Award" at the Sheikh Zayed Festival, in the category of Commercial Animal Production Farms for adopting the highest standards in poultry production chain.
H.E. Mariam bint Mohammed Almheiri, Minister of Climate Change and the Environment Award for Agricultural Excellence, presented the award to Dr. Mohammed Ezzat El Agamy, General Manager of Al Ajban Poultry, during a ceremony held today at the Sheikh Zayed Festival in Al Wathba.
Dr. El Agamy, General Manager of Al Ajban Poultry Company, expressed the company's pride in winning the prestigious H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Award for Agricultural Excellence, pointing out that the honor represents an additional motivation for the company to move forward in the development and excellence plans that are in line with the UAE's objectives in strengthening the agricultural system and ensuring food security for all.
He said that the company is working on its strategies to develop a sustainable, efficient, and integrated food system by adopting innovations and investment techniques, promoting good practices, and enhancing the competitiveness of local products, which contribute to enhancing biosecurity, in addition to achieving the nation’s food security objectives.
Dr. El Agamy explained that Al Ajban Poultry plays a major role in enhancing food and vital security in the UAE to enhance sustainable development and support the localization of modern technology in the poultry breeding process, as well as supporting local products and strengthening their position in the local market.
He added, “Al-Ajban Poultry is proud that it has established many partnerships with civil society institutions and the private sector, such as the Emirates Veterinary Association, the Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority, and the UAE University, by training medical personnel with the latest methods in veterinary medicine, laboratory methods, and how to analyze and detect animal diseases based on the highest international standards.”
