THE centenary birthday festival of the talented terracotta sculptor, theater and music artist of a Potter family who is the son of Late Bhikari Charan Sahu,Mr.Ramachandra Sahu in resident of Kshetrabasi Sahi Chunida village in Kalei Panchayat of Bhadrak district, has been held in the meantime.
In this occasion a birthday party meeting was held in Potter family of Kalei Village. An International Chairman of Chinmaya Foundation with International Journalist and Counselor of Odisha State Open University Dr.Chinmaya Dash was the chief guest of the festival under the leadership of the yoga and dance guru of this family Mr. Kahnu Charan Sahu.
As the chief speaker the H.O.D of Education department of Balikhanda Govt. College Prof. Sudhir Muduli, as the guest of honour Young Social Worker Mr. Tusharkanti Parida, President of Anand Marg Prachar Sangh of Bhadrak Branch Mr. Jagannath Ray, Senior Social Worker Mr. Abhiram Sahu, Dance Guru Master Mihir Kumar, Music Sculptor Kumar Chinmay, Instrumentalist Mr. Jagbandhu Sahu, Mr. Bishnu Charan Muduli, Mr. Sitakanth Behera, Odissi dance artist Banita Maharana and social worker Ranjita Panda were attend the meeting.
Natyashree Nirmal Raut, an artiste of Akashvani Doordarshan Center presided over the meeting. In the opening phase Mr. Abhiram Behera (a retired teacher) delivered the welcome speech.
Mr. Batakrishna Sethi and Mr. Ramachandra's wife Sureshee Sahu recited the Pujya Pooja (worshipping) and Shanti Mantra of this festival.
While artistes of the Utkal Nrutya Taranga showcased their artistic talent, a grand welcome dance was performed by the Sushree Madhusmita Sahu. Kurala Foundation Editor Mr. Purusottam Behera give vote of thanks to everyone at the end of in this meeting.
In the second phase Ms. Sasmita Sahu as stage manager, Sarita Behera from Matrukala Self Help Group, Gitanjali Behera, Subarnalata Sahu, Nirakar Sahu and President of Kurala Foundation Mr. Lokanatha Behera are participated in the special cultural program.
Mr. Pitambar Sahu, Digambar Sahu, Dushasan Sahu, Mr. Dhaneshwar Sahu, Manoranjan, Manoj, Bijay, Balaram, Lizarani and the villagers are joined the band to make the event a success.
At the end of the festival, Horlicks and dry food was distributed to the poor and needy people on behalf of the said family.
In the midnight entertainment program (Drama, music and dance) programs based on folk culture by the artistes of Utkal Nrutya Taranga along with Jadugar J.P Krishna's magic performance enthralled the audience.
