DUBAI-(UAE), December 13, 2023. The General Commission of The Africa Road Builders – Trophée Babacar NDIAYE has the honor and pleasure to inform all partners and stakeholders in the road and transport sector in Africa that the Inaugural Conference of the 9th edition will be held in Dubai, United Arab
Emirates, from April 17 to 21, 2024.
The work will take place under the theme: “Quality of road infrastructure and development in Africa”.
They will bring together in one place decision-makers,project owners, donors and operators from or working in all regions of Africa, as well
as journalists from the five regions of the continent and their guests.
With this press release, the General Commission opens a call for communications to all partners, entities or experts wishing to make a presentation, while calling for the mobilization of all for rich and diversified exchanges for the benefit of the development of Africa.
Also, in the spirit of this major meeting, all companies or institutions working in Africa are asked to publicize their best achievements in road and transport, with a view to designating the 2024 winners of the “Builder Trophy” from The Africa Road Builders.
From the 2024 edition, several categories have been established for the “Builder Trophy”.
This involves strengthening the valorization of all stakeholders who contribute to the success of a project, from design to operation, including financing and work management.
In accordance with the tradition of the event, the Super Prize Great Builder – Babacar NDIAYE Trophy 2024 will be awarded to an African
Head of State whose country has recorded successes, with regard to the general theme of the year.
The 2024 Laureate will succeed His Excellency
Andry RAJOELINA, 2023 laureate, whose country (Madagascar) is the special guest of the 2024 Inaugural Conference.
This is the place to recall that the designation of the laureate of the Babacar NDIAYE Trophy is done by the Selection Committee made up of journalists spread across Africa.
The Builders Trophy and the Super Prize Great Builder – Babacar NDIAYE Trophy, the winners of which will be known at the end of the Inaugural Conference, will be officially awarded during the Final Conference, on the occasion of the AfDB Annual Meetings, in May 2024 in Nairobi (Kenya).
As part of the awards, the General Commission will also propose to the Selection Committee a Special Prize to be awarded to the highest
authorities of the United Arab Emirates, for concrete successes in terms of roads and transport.
The General Commission strongly hopes that the Inaugural Conference thus announced will be as inspiring as it will bring effective development for Africa, as Dubai and the United Arab Emirates symbolize development in terms of roads and transport.
Dubai is also a stronghold where the whole world meets to decide on development issues and the future, in general.
Created in 2016, The Africa Road Builders – Trophée Babacar NDIAYE was inspired by the 5th President of the African Development Bank (AfDB), Dr. Babacar NDIAYE.
Since its launch, the event has been under the sponsorship of the African Development Bank and its President, Dr Akinwumi ADESINA.
