GABORONE-The Head of the SADC Election Observation Mission (SEOM) in Botswana, Hon. Mizengo Pinda has received a report on the preparations for the observation of the upcoming Botswana general election.
Hon. Mizengo Pinda chaired a briefing of the SADC Organ on Politics, Defence and Security (SADC Troika) held in Gaborone, Botswana.
Hon. Pinda and his team received and discussed a report presented by the SADC Secretariat for the Botswana General Election, which outlined how the SEOM will carry out its duties during Botswana’s General Election, scheduled for 30th October 2024.
Hon. Pinda expressed his confidence that the mission is well planned and prepared and that would enable SEOM to carry out its mandate.
He noted that a well-executed observation mission will come with recommendations that could help the observed country to improve organization for future elections
The meeting was attended by Troika representatives from Zambia, Malawi, the Chair, Tanzania, and the SADC Secretariat.
