JUBA (𝟐𝟓𝐭𝐡 𝐍𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒)-President Salva Kiir Mayardit has officially assented to the Financial and Appropriation Acts into law, thus actualizing the budget for the 2024-2025 fiscal year.

The two critical laws were presented to the President by the Speaker of the National Assembly Jemma Nunu Kumba, after their approval by the National parliament.

The Chairperson of the Specialized Committee on Finance and Planning Michael Ayuen Johnson, said attention now shifts to the Ministry of Finance and Planning, which will be responsible for managing the release of funds to various government departments and agencies now that the formal signing is complete.

The Budget for the 2024-2025 fiscal year totals 4.2 trillion SSP and stipulates government spending priorities in vital sectors like agriculture, infrastructure, health, education, humanitarian, and social welfare, among others.
