JUBA-President Salva Kiir Mayardit today January 17th,2025 has ordered the security forces to restore law and order in the country, amid growing protests over the killings of South Sudanese in Sudan.
The order of the President was issued after outraged youth protested in various spots within the capital Juba over the horrific killings of South Sudanese citizens in Wad Medani, Al Jazeera State, in Sudan.While briefing the President on the situation, the Inspector General of Police, Gen. Abraham Manyuat Peter told the president that the situation is contained in the capital and across the country.
He reassured the President that security forces were maintaining peace everywhere in the city.
He further confirmed that the Government has now taken full responsibility for the safety of Sudanese nationals residing in South Sudan as it continues to keenly monitor the situation.
