President Kiir swears in two Vice President

JUBA (𝐅𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐲 12th,𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓)-President Salva Kiir Mayardit has sworn in two Vice Presidents; Dr. Benjamin Bol Mel for Economic Cluster and Josephine Lagu for Service Cluster in an event that marks a pivotal moment in South Sudan’s ongoing efforts to bolster governance and advance its economic agenda.
The President says he recognises the economic hardships facing the citizens and directed the Vice President for Economic Cluster Dr. Bol Mel to carry out robust transformation in the economic sector, through diversifying the economy and prioritizing agriculture, in a bid to improve food security.
In his inaugural address, Vice President Bol Mel expressed profound gratitude to His Excellency for the trust and confidence bestowed upon him.

He pledged to serve the nation with loyalty, commitment, and devotion, emphasizing his determination to act without fear or failure in order to benefit the people of South Sudan and the Sudan People's Liberation Movement (SPLM).

"I am dedicated to advancing our economic agenda and working closely with H.E. to ensure South Sudan secures its rightful place in the region," Dr. Bol Mel stated.

Meanwhile, Josephine Lagu, who was sworn in under the South Sudan Opposition Alliance (SSOA) ticket, expressed her profound appreciation to H.E. for the opportunity to serve.

"I pledge not to let down the people of South Sudan," she stated.
She highlighted the collective responsibility of both the Government and the citizens in ensuring the provision of essential services and improving living standards across the country.

The swearing-in ceremony marks a hopeful chapter for South Sudan as it seeks to navigate its complex political landscape and strive for sustainable development and improved governance for its citizens.
