THE Vice Chancellor of Mzumbe University, Prof. William Mwegoha, is pleased to announceto the Mzumbe University community, stakeholders and the general public that the Chancellor, H.E.Dr.Ali Mohammed Shein,under the authority granted by Article 13(1) in conjunction with Rule 6(1)(3), Rule 8(2)(b), Rule 10 and Rule 15(b)(c) of the Mzumbe University Charter 2007,has appointed the following leaders to various positions with effect from 28th March 2025. The appointees are as follows:
PROF.HAWA TUNDUI PETRO
Deputy Vice Chancellor-Academic,Research and ConsultancyProf.Hawa Tundui Petro, an Associate Professor in Marketing andEntrepreneurship, she holds a PhD in Entrepreneurship from theUniversity of Groningen, Netherlands and MBA from the University of Agder,Norway.
With 28 years of dedicated service in academia,she hassignificantly contributed to the then Institute of Development Management(IDM) and Mzumbe University.
Her roles included Head of theDepartment of Business Administration, Examination Officer,AssociateDean,and Dean of the School of Business. Currently, she serves as Deputy Coordinator for the HEET project.
Her research focuses onwomen's entrepreneurship, exploring challenges, opportunities, and strategies for SME success.
PROF.OMARY LYASUKA SWALLEHE
Deputy Principal of Dar es Salaam Campus CollegeProf. Omary Lyasuka Swallehe, an Associate Professor in BusinessAdministration, has over two decades of experience in academia and the banking sector.
He holds a PhD from Bangalore University, in India an MAin Marketing from Durham University, and an MBA from the Universityof Bradford. His career at Mzumbe University has seen him rise toAssociate Professor.
Prof.Swalleh has also served as Head of theDepartment of Business Studies and Coordinator of the Tegeta Centre.
Also,he has been external examiner at international institutions and hasbeen actively involved in research projects and community initiatives.
DR.KARDO JOSEPH MWILONGO
Director of Library Services Dr. Kardo Joseph Mwilongo, a Senior Librarian at Mzumbe University, holds a PhD and a Master's degree in Information Studies.
His expertise spans library Information Management, Digital Literacy and Research methods.
He has contributed to numerous projects and publishedextensively in peer-reviewed journals.
