Dr Kikwete visits National Palace Museum of Ethiopia in Addis Ababa

ADDIS ABABA-Former President of Tanzania, H.E. Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete visited the National Palace of Ethiopia, the final residence of Emperor Haile Selassie.
This visit was made at the request of Ethiopian Prime Minister Dr. Abiy Ahmed, who had a brief meeting with President Kikwete in Addis Ababa on April 11, 2025.
During the meeting, President Kikwete delivered a special message from President Samia Suluhu Hassan.

The palace, now transformed into a museum, is a significant heritage site of immense cultural and aesthetic value, yet it has remained largely unexplored despite its rich collections of historical artifacts.
Prior to his visit to the palace, H.E. Kikwete met with the staff of the Tanzanian Embassy in Ethiopia, led by Ambassador Innocent Shiyo. During this meeting, President Kikwete urged the staff to uphold Tanzania's longstanding tradition of promoting Pan-Africanism.
